The Beauty of Flowers and Succulents

Lately I have been photographing a lot of macro images, especially flowers. Flowers are coming one of my favorite things to photograph. People don’t normally see that parts of a flower that are deep in the middle or between a couple of petals. Macro photograph allows me to show everyone the unseen of a flower. Here are a few images from my macro shoots these past few months!

Catching up!

It's been almost two months since I've posted! I have lots to update you on.
First, I've been busy working two other jobs so my photography had taken a pause for a while. I got a few photo shoots in though!

It became official yesterday, I should be getting the keys soon and then I will start moving my equipment and materials to the space! Once the studio is ready, I will host an open house! There will be headshot mini sessions for a discounted price, wine, snacks, free product vouchers, and contests! I hope you can join us when it's time. If not, you can always book an appointment for your own personalized styled photo shoot!
Here are a couple photos of the space, it may be small but it is mighty and we will create great things in this space!

A Few Crazy Days!

These past couple of weeks have been so busy for me! There were a couple group shoots with other area photographers. One was at an abandoned high school and one was at an old abandoned highway with a couple bridges near a river! It can't get more all over the place than that.

Shoot #1: APOLLO CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL -- BURLINGTON, IOWA (abandoned location)

Models: Brenna Young, Erica Ly, Jesse Hagerman, Nikki Buns, Nikki Londene, Stephanie Mellecker

Shoot #2: ABANDONED HIGHWAY OFF THE IOWA RIVER

Models: Deonna Troxel, Nikki Buns

Sunshine

It was a little bit sunny out some today but still a little cold. Tomorrow there is even snow in the forecast, then it'll start to get warmer. In the mean time, I took some macro shots of flowers we have in the house. I haven't taken macro flower photos in so long, it was nice shooting them again!

Spring Equinox

I thought today was an appropriate day to post this set! Merry came to me with the idea to shoot a cute theme that had a spring and warm feel. She had made this adorable umbrella for the shoot and she wore rain boots with her outfit to finish the spring look. It was fantastic! A few days before our shoot, I looked at the weather forecast and turns out our spring shoot was being taken over by snow. It snowed a few inches that weekend but we decided to still try to get our spring look. It was a little cold and windy, but it went great and we had lots of fun talking and laughing with each other. We did accomplish what we were going for with our Spring theme, so take a look below, close your eyes, and imagine that there isn't snow on the ground in mid April here in Iowa right now.
